Creative Partnerships Wiki
Apr 24 2007, 2:14 PM EDT Steve, Well done on being so quick off the mark to set up this Creative Partnerships Wiki and on the openess of your 'reflections'. I am only now coming out of the Schumacher Calm that I left with on Friday. A week away left me with an overfull in tray. However, I am dealing with it in a different way than I would normally have done, and keeping stress at bay. 'Profound' is the word I would use for my experience with you all, and I have already started to discuss how we will implement creative partnerships at White Design. If you want to see more of our work click onto: http://www.white-design.co.uk/ Speak to you all again soon, Craig 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Creative Partnerships Wiki
Apr 25 2007, 10:47 AM EDT Hi Craig I'm having a similar experience of "keeping stress at bay" now that I'm back though that's probably due to the fact that mentally I've partly left my job already so perhaps I need to keep focused on the moment! Have you been swapping stories of your Schumacher experiences and cooking from the Gaia cookbook? Did you're little person remember you? How soon do you start work on the school in Dartington? So many quesions! love Tina Do you find this valuable? |

May 2 2007, 7:11 PM EDT Hi Tina, Yes I have cooked using the Gaia cookbook, and in my Gaia pinnie too! We started work on Dartington on Friday 27th, it was good to be back in Dartington and the school are keen to make connections with Schumacher College. I will keep you posted on how we get on. Have you worked out your year away plan, or are you going to follow an emergent path, and journey? Sharing the Schumacher experience is interesting, I find myself struggling and say things like 'you had to have been there to really understand'. Explaining it seems to be the most difficult thing, the whole week was definately an experiential process rather than conventionally academic. More body and soul than mind. Speak to you soon Craig Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Creative Partnerships Wiki
May 29 2007, 7:11 PM EDT Craig! I've spoken to so many people about your funny roof that catches the rain water and have used your example of our madness at cleaning water so we can drink it and then using it to flush our toilets. Again, only last night I was taking to someone who's an architect from Spain and went through the whole story! My plans are coming together - Scottish islands, Buddhists, organic farms, intentional communities, eco-building, self-sufficiency, a tented conference village. It's all very exciting though the year doesn't seem to be long enough to fit everything in. See my reply to Cynthia to get the next part of the Matt Harvey story! T. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Creative Partnerships Wiki
May 30 2007, 12:18 AM EDT Hi Craig - I too have been telling your story of the "wise Dane," the rain-catching roof, and your wonderful architectural firm. What a delight to hear your story and see your work - yes, even with that embarrassing graphic of the American impacts on the global ecosystems. (I figure that's why it's important that people like Kip and me are working hard to raise awareness and change things here - rather than giving up and leaving to live somewhere else, which is tempting sometimes.) About sharing experiences that defy descriptions - many times the best way is to focus on a small experience and tell the story, which we already know you do so well! Best to you all, Cynthia Do you find this valuable? |

Jun 1 2007, 1:25 PM EDT Hi Craig - I checked out the web link; the event sounds fascinating. I would most certainly drop by for a tour, if only it weren't quite so far away. I'll be there in spirit! All the best, Cynthia Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Creative Partnerships Wiki
Jun 1 2007, 1:48 PM EDT Hi Cynthia, Wow, that was quick! Amazing to think you are on the other side of the world as I type. We are implementing power with thinking into everything we do, as well as trying to capture that Schumacher feeling. I hope you enjoyed your tour around the west country and managed to find the balance of geology and culture. Kip seemed to have a good trip around Scotland - did he buy a kilt I wonder. He and I are corresponding on how his organisation structures work to deliver creative partnership. I'll let you know how we get on. Have a good weekend. Craig Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Creative Partnerships Wiki
Jun 1 2007, 2:20 PM EDT Hi again Craig - yes, the power of the internet is an amazing tool, and it helps us quite literally keep our "web" of relationships going. I would love to hear examples of your applications of "power with" structures and interactions as you go along. Who knows, you might even wind up in the next book I'm working on! And it's great that you are following up with Kip on the "nuts and bolts" of structure - they have done an amazing job of transitioning into a truly partnership organisation; one of the best I've had the pleasure of working with, and they have sustained it for over 10 years now. If there's anything else I can provide as well, please don't hesitate to ask. I am excited about the potential for your creative partnerships! We did enjoy our tour around the west country, and balanced some culture with the Jurassic Coast, which Allen loved! I posted a description of our trip, but accidentally it's on the profile page, which is a bit out of the way on this site. I was sorry to miss Bath, and hope to do it justice on another trip in the future! Happy Friday! Cynthia Do you find this valuable? |
