It's lovely to read your message, Cynthia. With lots of other events now since Schumacher, my time spent with you all on the Creative Partnerships course had almost become forgotten so reading your words has brought everything back and revived the spirit of our meeting. Something drew me intuitively to check this site again after a long absence and I was rewarded for doing so.

To update the Matt Harvey (the poet) story: I met him as expected at the Swindon festival of literature (this is now my 5th year of working there) and he told me he got a note from Kip. Apparently Kip had been in all the bookshops in Totnes looking for a Matt Harvey poetry book and had ended up in a second hand bookshop explaining what he was looking for. The woman said "That's my son-in-law" so he left a note for Matt with her which apparently explained that he'd heard the poems from a "Glaswegian biochemist with a wicked sense of humour". Then at the festival, following a performance by a number of new London poets, one of whom had written a sestina (a type of poem, I beleive), Matt was inspired to scribble down and read his own attempt at a sestina:

No More Ms Nice
Every day in every way I get a little meaner
says Tina (sestina - get it?).

He used Kip's "Glaswegian biochemist" description.

Anyway, all is well and the count down is on now until I take my sabbatical!

love
Tina

Hello everyone - I have been travelling almost nonstop since I left Schumacher, and not had a ready internet access much of the time so I am only just now catching up on this wonderful site that Stephen has created for nurturing our partnerships. Thank you Stephen!

My husband Allen and I had a wonderful time touring SW England after we left Schumacher - thank you to many of you for your helpful suggestions! Allen loved the "Jurassic Coast," and the only place we didn't really get to see that we wanted to was Bath; we will just have to return one day!

I hope this finds you all well and discovering opportunities to use some of the tools we shared during our magical time at Schumacher. I have read all of your posts, and am delighted to see the on-going connections that are happening. Even though we are separated by many miles and even continents, we can offer perspectives and support and resources for each other via this channel. And if there is a reunion of this amazing, talented, committed group, I will want to be there! I am encouraged by your collective spirit, energy, and commitment, and humbled by your widespread involvements and the important work you are doing.

I already know I would love to return to Schumacher; perhaps I can offer this course again, and then a follow-up course for those who have taken the first one. And if you have questions - don't hesitate to ask!

Allen was able to capture a wonderful series of photos of the door opening ceremony; I will try to get them posted shortly. I was deeply honored by the opportunity to co-create and participate in that symbolic Schumacher blessing and crossing of the threshold.

In the midst of frantic days and full inboxes, may you all know moments of deep peace, savor the community we share, and have hope that together we can co-create cultures that value and protect our Mother Earth and cherish peace between all beings.

Blessings to you all,
Cynthia
